Applied Nutrition - Casein is produced not from whey, but directly from milk. Cow’s milk contains approximately 80% casein protein.

Unlike whey, casein protein is slowly digestible; its full absorption takes about 6-8 hours. That is why it is called an anti-catabolic protein.

Casein protein and muscle growth:
During sleep, when the body experiences a lack of nutrients for 7–8 hours, it enters a catabolic state. Muscle mass is broken down into amino acids. To stop this process, there is only one solution: before going to sleep, consume food that will supply the muscles with nutrients - amino acids - throughout the entire night. There are only two such products: cottage cheese or casein protein.
One serving of casein protein is equivalent to approximately 200 g of cottage cheese in terms of protein content. Casein protein creates a positive nitrogen balance in the body, which is one of the most important factors for muscle growth.
